Claire in the mountains of Alaska

I lived in Alaska for five years. During that time I worked as an editor for a small independent book publisher and distributor, and as a research analyst for the State of Alaska.

I left my job with the State of Alaska in March 2016, when my husband and I moved to Washington for his work. The decision to go into freelance editing was a natural one: I wanted to use the skills I’d developed to do work I enjoyed, and I was attracted to the idea of working for myself and the freedom of making my own schedule, working from home, and choosing the type of work I would do.

I have always enjoyed reading and writing, and I have a natural aptitude for the English language. I edit everything I read for grammar, spelling and content, especially if it’s a subject I am familiar with. This passion for what I do fuels my desire to be an editor full-time, and while I am just beginning to learn what it takes to run a successful freelance business, I am excited to provide top-notch editing services to every single one of my clients.
